| Birmingham Niteline is a telephone and e-mail
listening and information service run by fully trained students
for all students and operates every night (including weekends) of
term. The service offers a space to talk. If there is something
bothering you which you want to talk through, or you just want to
ring for a chat, Niteline gives you the opportunity to do both.
It
is a confidential non-judgemental, non-directive organisation which
means that volunteers won't make any judgements or assumptions based
on what you say and they won't try and tell you what to do. They
will listen to you. Also, anything you say is kept strictly confidential
- you don’t have to give your name and your call can’t
be traced. Niteline also offers an information service which means
you can call for anything from a helpline number to exam timetables
to pizza numbers - and they’re cheaper than directory enquiries!
You can also drop in at the side door of St Francis Hall (next to
the Guild) between 6pm and midnight, or get in touch by email
- we promise to reply within 48 hours during term time.
Niteline is open all night, all term from 6pm till 8am.
Call Niteline between 6pm and 8am on the number on the back of your
Guild card or for free from halls on 830 4 3333, email niteline@bugs.bham.ac.uk
or drop in at the side door of St Francis Hall next door to the
Guild between 6pm and midnight.
